Let’s celebrate Belenchuk!

I know I’m much later than usual in delivering you the goings on in ‘the world of Sans’, things have been very busy, but since the launch of the debut album the focus has been on the wonderful art of Belenchuk!

As you know she has designed all of the artworks for the singles and album as well as worked on all of the videos and loads of the content with me.

This month is her birthday month and she’s also been busy on some of her very own solo projects, it’s exciting times for her so I’m really happy to dedicate a mailout to her talents.

Before we jump into the world of ‘Беленчук’ I just want to ask you something, have you ever struggled with self doubt?

ArronStageFright

Ever heard a voice in your head telling you you’re not good enough? Or
had that imposter syndrome feeling where you’re battling an inner turmoil that you might get found out as a fraud?

If you’ve thought about it and can relate then good, you know exactly
what it’s like to create something from nothing and have a connection to your inner critic.

Like me, Belenchuk is an emotive creator so these struggles are real,
often on a daily basis, where you’re questioning whether things are good
enough, whether what you do is worthy of anyone else’s attention, especially when you’re conflicted with other issues around the world.

The truth is ALL art is relevant, at any time, because art is a reflection, sometimes a commentary of the world we live in, which is vast and has a wide array of beliefs, cultures and attitudes. So everything is valid. If something moves someone then it’s relevant right!?

MURAL DEBUT...

Invited by our close friend, Belenchuk was commissioned to paint a mural of her choice on a 7 meter long garden wall. This was the first ever mural she has painted and I think you’ll agree, it is stunning.

While they were away on holiday me and Polina house sat for them and she used the time to paint the mural. Having designed it at home and worked out the colour palette, she researched paints and where to get them, apparently any ol’ paint will do, but there are requirements for longevity of a piece depending on what type of wall you’re painting on.

So once ready with her design and materials we headed to Chesham in Zone 9 on the outskirts of London for a few days, I must say it was nice to get away for a bit.

We managed to get into a good routine, I could work remotely on the day job and so was still able to be there for Polina in case she needed any assistance, she managed to get up and enjoy morning countryside walks to inspire her for the days creativity and we still got to be together in the evenings. (I took my guitar too and so the Album No.2 writing could continue.)

The mural was loved so much that she was invited to have her first ever ‘BELENCHUK’ exhibition there too…

'INNER CRITIC' EXHIBITION...

A couple of weeks later we were back in Chesham for the unavailing of the Belenchuk mural and an intimate showcase of her work surrounding the theme of the mural…

It relates to the question I asked you at the start of this post, about those inner critics trying to keep us in our own comfort zones by tricking us with self doubt etc.

…For a few months now Polina has been painting and sculpting pieces that explore this issue.

You can experience THE EXHIBITION HERE

The thing I love about this theme is that it’s relatable to everyone, it can also encourage people who don’t feel like they’re creative to actually give it a go! Creativity is such a therapeutic and cathartic experience it’s thoroughly worth exploring your own creative desires and ideas as it can make for a happier life in so many ways.

It is true, the world does revolves around money, but something we need to remember is the fact that we live in a society, we don’t live in an economy!

Economies only work if there is a society!

Without a society, economy wouldn’t exist and for a happy, healthy economy, the world needs happy and healthy societies.

For society to be happy, we need art to be ever present.

Art is arguably the most relevant part of our world even down to things like graphic design for a corporate logo. If you believe that economy is more important – think about how it could work if there wasn’t creative talents such as a graphic designers or advertisers.

With that in mind I want us to think about ourselves as individuals, as individuals we are made up of so many factors, one of those factors has to be artistic, creative, adventurous, explorative and expressive.

All these things are relevant within the art world! Therefore totally relevant within the world as a whole, it is ingrained and imbedded within the structure of society.

We use art to tell stories, commentate on the world, reflect it and help us understand the past, present and future! With all that’s going on in the world, war, poverty, corruption, environmental disasters, art is vital in not only cataloguing these things for future generations but also to help us find a peace in todays world or even temporary escapism from it.

So please ask yourself these important questions from time to time so that you too can express what you feel into artistic form-chances are that it will resonate with other people and that might just inspire others to play a vital role in this world too.

Join me in congratulating Belenchuk for a wonderful theme and first exhibition! As you know, she inspires me so much and I really do believe that her work is crucial in this modern world. We need her humbling conscientiousness and calming artistic influence to resonate with the world.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY...

BirthdayGirlPolina

On the 10th OCT is was Polina’s birthday. We also had a little party for her on the 15th. The above is a picture of her and her cake… Don’t worry, she did share it with me, so the world is complete.

She really wanted to take a day trip out to Eastbourne, which was a place neither of us have been. We both just love visiting the seaside, whatever the weather, no matter where it is.

It was really nice to get away together and enjoy the fresh air.

Here is a little video of the trip and yes, I wrote the song that goes with it, part of her birthday present… It was certainly a hit with her!
